STAT+: Sanofi, Regeneron expand partnership after Dupixent success
Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, the partners behind the successful drug Dupixent, are expanding their collaboration with a new series of antibodies for immunological diseases, announced Thursday.
As part of the pact, Sanofi is paying Regeneron $1 billion upfront, with possible milestone payments of up to $7 billion more. Regeneron will take the lead on research and development, while Sanofi will spearhead commercial efforts, and profits on the medicines would be split evenly.
George Yancopoulos, Regeneron's chief scientific officer, said in a statement that combining Regeneron's scientific discovery and antibody development expertise with Sanofi's global capabilities and reach could deliver the next wave of innovation in immunology.
