Telemedicine company offers GLP-1s for addiction
A new company, Quel, announced yesterday that it is launching as the first telemedicine venture built around GLP-1s for addiction. The services are available in 41 states and are an extension of a treatment program first tested at Caron Treatment Centers in Pennsylvania.
STAT's Lev Facher wrote last summer about the elite center's use of semaglutide for addiction, describing it as a journey into uncharted territory. At the time, only a handful of clinical trials existed to test GLP-1s' ability to treat addiction.
